i went back to 'bama to visit friends and family and sampled the most delicious brat i had never had ... and i generally don't like them. it was made even better topped with a vinegar-based slaw as well as sauteed onions + spicy mustard

Bushwick Country Club .. it sounds fancy but rest assured, it's not! We gathered there to celebrate Ivy's birthday in true fashion with PBR's, Jim Beam Coke Slushies and an endless supply of stale cheesy poofs !!

The Rakehells @ East River Bar

Our friends, The Rakehells, played out @ The East River bar on Saturday ... good times were had by all and a BBQ to kick things off was an especially nice touch.

My new tattoo is pretty badass but believe it or not I have yet to have any really good pictures of it taken .. which is what I was waiting for to post but oh well. I got it done a little over a month ago by Scott Campbell who is absolutely amazing!!

A few weeks ago some of us headed up to Boston for Bill & Christina's wedding shower .. there are alot of pictures of everyone but this is a great one of the ladies.

Phish Summer Tour

Phish is back and summer is prime time for a tour. Some friends and I have hit two shows so far ... a very rainy show @ Jones Beach (all were clad in poncho's and rain boots!) and then a picture perfect show @ Greatwoods. Seeing so many fabulous friends again was as great as the music and the Jamgirlz did not disappoint .... not only was the music great but the event also marked Teresa's bachelorette party.

Later this summer I'll pick back up with shows @ the Gorge in Washington State (beautiful camping!!) and then rounding out the tour with stops in Hartford & Merriweather.

metropolitan transportation authority

the subway is pretty grubby but i'd be up the creek without it. living here for 7 yrs i'd consider myself an expert on how to go every which way but this past weekend .. well i felt like a tourist. after leaving the museum we were sort of dazed and went to wait on the V train. we waited and waited and waited .. we saw three E trains go by but where oh were is this V train?!? just as we watch the third E train go by I finally read the big sign that says no V train on the weekends and to take the other train to 7th Ave. and transfer .. d'oh!!! we had needlessly stood there for a very long time. our sheepish defense was "we hate going uptown!".

Per my previous post's today ... I was in fine form to appreciate art so I went to the Museum Of Modern Art which surprisingly was only my 2nd visit since they finally landed in their (not so new anymore) home.

aboriginal sounds in brooklyn

last night we found a new performer @ the lorimer / metropolitan stop playing a didgeridoo. he was really great and the echo in the subway was especially good for this aboriginal wind instrument. to top it off there was the cutest little girl dancing and later another little girl joined in. eventually a crowd had gathered as we all waited for the train ... i don't think there was one person there who wasn't charmed by what they saw

Ibride Trays

this is not a design blog but yes .. it's certainly looking that way today.

Ibride's products are created by 3 members of the same French family.
The inspiration for each item comes from both the very close environment and travels around the world. The word 'ibride' itself is a play on words in French meaning 'hybrid', and many of the pieces combine several forms and several functions. Is it the form or function of each piece that defines it or the hybrid meeting point that make it difficult to define?

when i first discovered etsy i thought JACKPOT .. so many handmade well-crafted items to browse through, i could kill so much time checking it all out. i have bought several items off etsy .. some were even better than imagined and some left something to be desired. one of the first shops i checked out was jeff campana ceramics, really gorgeous stuff!!
